Therefore, I have to click Cached just so I can get to the right site & I’ve tried everything that I thought could help me:
-Ad-Aware 2008
-Spyware Doctor
-SmitfraudFix
-Spybot Search & Destroy
-How to remove Antispyware2008XP instructions
But none of them seems to fully get rid of Antispyware2008XP (I still see it’s icon in the Add or Remove Programs list). Please help me!
Rachel
please could somebody tell me how to remove it?
ive tried downloading all sorts of proper anti spyware programs, but spyware guard keeps blocking access to these sites.
i’d like to do it manually, however all the instructions ive seen on the web say things like delete this file then delete this key etc etc.
i havent a clue how to delete a file, where to find it to delete it or what a key or whatever is, so in your answer could you please make all instructions as detailed, as step by step, and as idiot proof as possible!!!!
many thanks! owl10!!!

i should add, ive already downloaded malwarebytes. i had to change the mbam…exe name to get it to allow me to open setup, but it wont let it run.
i can identify it in msconfig, but cant change due to lack of administrator pasword (xp)
it blocks any webpages with blogs etc with instructons how to remove it, all microsoft sites (to stop me getting sharedview etc)
no joy yet

1. Changes my IE homepage.
2. Adds tab popups to my firefox browser.
3. Prevents me from opening my task manager claiming saying I’m not the Administrator.
4. Prevents me from printing pages from the internet.
5. Adds a tool bar to my IE
6. Adds a ton of pop ups showing fake antispyware sites. Certain pop ups resemble a Windows alert pop up.
7. Gives a flash “X” icon on my desktop
I tried my anti-spyware programs and I’m convinced that I should do a system restore or manually remove the trojan.
What should I do and how do I do
The Malware could be the Vundo trojan.
