Hello. I’m having problems with my internet. I just got Time Warner cable with their “High Speed” internet. and the problem is that it’s more like 56K than “high speed” now i’ve pretty much narrowed it down to a couple things…I’m running an Intel Pentium 3 processor, and i’ve downloaded a couple anti spyware programs which came with a couple of toolbars that obviously didn’t help. Also at one point i had Yahoo! messenger and MySpace messengers on too, which had some program attached to them called “Internet Speed Monitor” which liked to display pop-ups when i wasn’t connected to the internet. needless to say, i’ve deleted all of these, but the problem still persists…slow internet, pop-ups, and i get booted off the internet for no apparent reason…honestly i feel like i’m back in 1995. how would i remedy these problems?

Have you talked to Time Warner about this? Many “anti-spyware” programs actually create more problems than they solve. A lot of non-malicious spyware is installed along with innocent programs like messengers.
